About Corazón Evolution
An attuned space to gain clarity, direction, and renewal.
Who I Am
My name is Julie Patiño (she/ella), and I’m the founder of Corazón Evolution. I am a mixed-race, Chicana attorney, former nonprofit leader, organizer, and coach with more than 30 years of experience supporting individuals, peers, organizations, and communities through change, conflict, and transition.
My work has spanned civil rights, legal advocacy, community mental health, organizational leadership, and social justice. Over the years, I’ve guided people through some of the most complex and emotionally charged periods of their lives.
I know how to support people who help others when they are seeking clarity, restoration, and renewal, and when they need a thoughtful, strategic partner to make aligned decisions and move forward with confidence.
I bring grounded presence, practical insight, emotional intelligence, and deep respect for the stories people carry.
Lived Experience and Humility
My work is informed not only by professional training and decades in justice and community-based work, but also by lived experience.
I understand from the inside many of the cultural, economic, and systemic realities that affect the communities I have served throughout the country. I also recognize the light-skinned privilege I carry as a white Latina, and my responsibility to remain accountable in my behavior and to continue deepening my awareness of injustice in all its forms.
I don’t sit above the work. It is part of who I am on an ongoing basis.
My Background in Transpersonal Psychology
My background also includes three years of graduate-level education in counseling psychology at the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University), including supervised clinical training in a community mental health setting and in an organization serving people from Mexico and Latin America.
I chose to study transpersonal psychology because it approaches growth and change as more than a cognitive process. It recognizes that people are shaped not only by thoughts, but also by meaning, identity, the body, creativity, and spirituality.
This field draws from depth psychology, somatic awareness, and contemplative practices, and understands transformation as something that happens through reflection, embodiment, and connection to what matters most.
Why I Started Corazón Evolution
Corazón Evolution grew from my desire to create a unique space where people who have spent years supporting, advocating, and caring for others can reconnect with themselves, listen to the wisdom of their hearts, and claim wellbeing and joy.
What “Corazón” Means
In Spanish, corazón means “heart.” I chose the word because it reflects more than a literal definition. It points to the center of who we are, where clarity, courage, and inner guidance live.
Corazón is a place within us worthy of attention. Corazón Evolution expresses the belief that meaningful change begins when we reconnect with that deeper wisdom and allow our lives to evolve from it.
Corazón Evolution supports the work of turning inward with honesty, compassion, and curiosity, and moving forward from the strongest, truest part of yourself.
Values That Guide My Work
Corazón (Heart)
Corazón reflects a commitment to compassion, integrity, and courage — toward ourselves and others. It is the practice of choosing care over fear, and listening to the quiet wisdom beneath reactivity.
Evolution
I believe in growth, learning, and emergence. Evolution includes curiosity, experimentation, and sometimes disruption. It asks us to revise old scripts and remain open to becoming more fully ourselves.
Authenticity
Authenticity requires sincerity and humility. It means showing up without pretense — allowing ourselves to be seen as we are, rather than performing who we think we should be.
Collaboration & Agency
This work is collaborative and relational. It values curiosity with another while honoring self-direction. Clients retain authorship of their lives; coaching supports insight, clarity, and choice.
Self-Awareness
Self-awareness involves conscious knowledge of one’s inner world — patterns, beliefs, motivations, emotions, and desires. It is the foundation for intentional living and meaningful change.
Wholeness
I hold a belief in fundamental wholeness — that people already carry what they need to grow, learn, and thrive. Often the work is uncovering or reconnecting with what is already present.
Embodiment & Space
Understanding lives not only in thought, but in the body, our environments, and our relationships. Creating both literal and figurative space allows insight, grounding, and integration to emerge.
Kindness
Kindness is an intentional pause — a moment where we choose generosity over judgment, defense, or withdrawal. It applies equally inward and outward.
Inclusiveness
I am committed to fostering spaces of belonging, dignity, and respect across differences of identity, culture, lineage, ability, background, and lived experience.
