Frequently Asked Questions
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching and therapy are distinct forms of support.
Coaching focuses on clarity, decision-making, and forward movement. It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, process trauma, or provide crisis support.
I attended a graduate-level counseling psychology program and engaged in a supervised clinical internship, but I do not practice therapy and am not a licensed mental health professional. This background informs my coaching and my understanding of the ethical and legal boundaries between coaching and therapy.
Coaching with Corazón Evolution is not a substitute for therapy. If you need clinical mental health support, I will help you identify appropriate resources.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes. While coaching is not a legally privileged relationship, I treat it as confidential.
I do not share client stories, examples, or experiences — even anonymously — in writing, teaching, or conversations with others. You will not hear about other clients, and your story will not be shared.
Confidentiality is foundational to how I work.
Does coaching involve legal advice?
No. Coaching with Corazón Evolution does not include legal advice.
While I am an attorney licensed in California, I do not provide legal advice through Corazón Evolution. Providing legal advice is outside the scope of coaching and outside the services offered by this practice.
If you have legal questions or concerns, it’s important to seek advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
Do you work virtually or in person?
I work primarily virtually. All coaching sessions are conducted online in a private, confidential setting.
Virtual sessions allow clients to meet from spaces where they feel comfortable and avoid the lack of privacy that comes with meeting in public places.
Space Alignment is available both virtually and in person, with in-person sessions limited to Western Washington.
What if I’m in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency?
Coaching is not crisis support, and if you are in crisis you deserve immediate and appropriate help.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact local emergency services or a mental health professional right away.
If you are already working with a therapist, psychiatrist, or other provider, they should be your first point of contact during a crisis.
If a client appears to need support beyond the scope of coaching, I may pause or discontinue coaching and help identify appropriate resources.
What is your approach or philosophy?
My approach blends clear, structured coaching with meaning-centered reflection.
In plain terms, this means we pay attention not only to goals and action steps, but also to the beliefs, assumptions, and stories shaping how you see yourself and your options.
This is not abstract or spiritualized work. It is practical, grounded, and focused on helping you think clearly and act with intention.
What kinds of issues do you work with?
Clients come to Corazón Evolution for support with:
- burnout and work-related strain
- career transitions and reinvention
- caregiving, grief, and major life changes
- identity tension and cultural complexity
- challenges related to identification as neurodivergent
- decision-making during uncertainty
- overwhelm in home or work environments
- follow-through, organization, and clarity
If you’re unsure whether your situation fits, a Discovery Call can help clarify that.
How long are sessions?
Coaching sessions are 60 minutes.
Discovery Calls are 20 minutes and are focused on determining fit, not coaching.
Space Alignment sessions:
- Virtual: 1 or more hours
- On-site: 2 hour minimum, may include additional travel fees
How often should we meet?
For best results, I recommend meeting once a week, especially at the beginning of our work together. Regular weekly sessions help establish momentum, clarity, and follow-through.
While frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and schedule, consistently meeting weekly supports deeper progress. Spacing sessions too far apart often leads to loss of focus and slower movement.
We’ll determine the right rhythm together, but if you want to stay engaged and see results, weekly sessions are the most effective place to start.
Do you offer any special rates?
Yes. I have a discounted 10-Session Rate available for $1,350, which reflects a discount of $150, making each session $135/session. The ten session package must be used within 6 months of purchase.
What is your cancellation policy?
Sessions must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance or one full business day, whichever is earlier.
This allows time for the session to be offered to another client.
Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged in full, as outlined in the client agreement.
Do you communicate between sessions?
Coaching support happens primarily during scheduled sessions.
Brief, logistical communication (such as scheduling questions) is welcome between sessions. Extended messaging, coaching questions, or in-depth discussions are reserved for session time.
I respond to messages within 1–2 business days, excluding weekends and state or federal holidays.
Do you charge travel fees for in-person work?
For Space Alignment sessions, additional travel fees may apply depending on the travel location in Western Washington, or other logistics and fees that I would incur.
Do you work with organizations or only individuals?
I work primarily with individuals. I also work with organizations on a limited basis for coaching, facilitation, or project-based support.
If you’re inquiring on behalf of an organization, please reach out directly.
How do I get started?
You can begin by scheduling a 20-minute Discovery Call or scheduling a full session directly.
