About Corazón Evolution
An attune, private space to gain clarity, direction, and achieve personal growth.
Who I Am
My name is Julie Patiño, and I’m the founder of Corazón Evolution. I am a mixed-race, Mexican-American attorney, nonprofit leader, and coach with more than 30 years of experience supporting individuals, organizations, and communities through change, conflict, and transition.
My work has spanned civil rights, legal advocacy, community mental health, organizational leadership, and social justice. Over the years, I’ve guided people through some of the most complex and emotionally charged periods of their lives. I know how to help people see clearly, make decisions, and move forward with confidence.
I bring grounded presence, practical insight, emotional intelligence, and deep respect for the stories people carry.
Lived Experience and Humility
My work is informed not only by formal training and professional roles, but by lived experience.
I have navigated many of the same challenges my clients bring into our work — burnout, identity tension, cultural complexity, caregiving, loss, professional transitions, and the ongoing process of recalibrating who you are in different environments.
I don’t sit above the work. I’m engaged in it too.
That perspective keeps my coaching grounded, honest, and connected to real life — not theory or abstraction.
My Background in Transpersonal Psychology
In addition to my legal and leadership background, I completed three years of graduate-level training in counseling psychology at the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology, including extensive coursework and an intensive supervised clinical internship.
During that training, I counseled clients under supervision, using both traditional and transpersonal approaches. I am not a licensed therapist. However, this training deeply informs how I work as a coach — ethically, relationally, and with respect for complexity, boundaries, and human experience.
Why I Started Corazón Evolution
Throughout my career, I saw a pattern: people often focused on their challenges and perceived shortcomings, instead of the strength and wisdom they already held within. I saw it in multiple contexts:
- The job that no longer fit
- The burnout from mission-driven work
- The identity strain of being mixed-race or first-generation
- The transition after caregiving
- The overwhelm in a home that hasn’t kept up with life
- The uncertainty that happens after loss, be it of a person, home, or way of life
- The sense that “there is a deeper need and calling within”
People needed space to think, recalibrate, and imagine their next chapter — without judgment or pressure. And they needed that support delivered in a way that was nonjudgemental, attuned to their circumstances, engendered new possibilities, and was grounded in both lived experience and professional skill.
Corazón Evolution was created for that purpose.
What “Corazón” Means
In Spanish, corazón means “heart.” I chose the word because it reflects more than a literal definition. It points to the center of who we are — where clarity, courage, and inner guidance live.
Corazón is a place within us worthy of attention. It’s where we reconnect with what matters, reclaim our sense of direction, and remember what we already know.
Corazón Evolution reflects the work of turning inward with honesty, compassion, and curiosity — and moving forward from the strongest, truest part of yourself.
A Confidential, Ethical Practice
Although coaching is not a legally protected confidential relationship, I treat it as one. I do not reference client experiences — even without names — in writing, examples, or conversations with others. You will not hear about other clients, and no one will hear about you.
Confidentiality is foundational to how I work.
How I Work
My approach blends:
- Clear, grounded coaching that supports growth and resilience
- Attention to patterns and beliefs
- Narrative exploration (the stories you carry and the ones you’re ready to shift)
- Practical support for decisions and planning
- Emotional steadiness
- Tools for clarity and forward movement
You don’t have to arrive prepared or polished. You just have to show up.
Who I Work With
I work with:
- Adults in transition
- People experiencing burnout, toxic work environments, or work-related strain
- Individuals navigating loss, caregiving responsibilities, or major life changes
- People who identify as neurodivergent
- First-generation and mixed-race clients
- People in social justice and mission-driven roles
- Young adults starting out
- Older adults re-organizing their lives or identities after major changes
- Individuals referred by therapists, acupuncturists, or other practitioners
- People overwhelmed by their space or environment
If you’re overwhelmed, in motion, or unsure what comes next, you’re in the right place.
Values That Guide My Work
Corazón (Heart)
Corazón reflects a commitment to compassion, integrity, and courage — toward ourselves and others. It is the practice of choosing care over fear, and listening to the quiet wisdom beneath reactivity.
Evolution
I believe in growth, learning, and emergence. Evolution includes curiosity, experimentation, and sometimes disruption. It asks us to revise old scripts and remain open to becoming more fully ourselves.
Authenticity
Authenticity requires sincerity and humility. It means showing up without pretense — allowing ourselves to be seen as we are, rather than performing who we think we should be.
Collaboration & Agency
This work is collaborative and relational. It values curiosity with another while honoring self-direction. Clients retain authorship of their lives; coaching supports insight, clarity, and choice.
Self-Awareness
Self-awareness involves conscious knowledge of one’s inner world — patterns, beliefs, motivations, emotions, and desires. It is the foundation for intentional living and meaningful change.
Wholeness
I hold a belief in fundamental wholeness — that people already carry what they need to grow, learn, and thrive. Often the work is uncovering or reconnecting with what is already present.
Embodiment & Space
Understanding lives not only in thought, but in the body, our environments, and our relationships. Creating both literal and figurative space allows insight, grounding, and integration to emerge.
Kindness
Kindness is an intentional pause — a moment where we choose generosity over judgment, defense, or withdrawal. It applies equally inward and outward.
Inclusiveness
I am committed to fostering spaces of belonging, dignity, and respect across differences of identity, culture, lineage, ability, background, and lived experience.
